Bangladesh

Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country in the world. The total population of 158 million is rapidly increasing at a rate of 1.37% each year [1]. Despite policies in place for provision of family planning services, implementation of these policies remain a challenge and access to the full range of contraceptive methods and quality, affordable services is limited.

AFP’s in-country partner is Marie Stopes Bangladesh.

Marie Stopes Bangladesh works closely with the national and subnational governments and other stakeholders to increase access to contraceptive method choices, improve quality of family planning services, increase funding for family planning at subnational levels, ensure the provision of commodities at lower levels, and create an environment that enables updated tools and training for service providers.
