AFP's New "Advocacy Wins 2009-2015" Summarizes 140+ Advocacy Wins

Advance Family Planning’s (AFP's) newly released booklet, Advocacy Wins 2009-2015, summarizes the initiative’s more than 140 advocacy wins since 2009. The partnership focuses advocacy efforts on the discrete policy and funding decisions critical to advancing family planning in a given setting. Once achieved, these incremental changes – termed “advocacy wins” – demonstrate progress and accelerate momentum toward long-term goals.

The user-friendly booklet compiles the wins in chronological order from each of AFP’s nine focus countries, two regional advocacy networks, ten Opportunity Fund grantees, as well as advocacy wins with a global reach. Each win is categorized as a Budget Allocation, Policy Improvement, or Visibility Gain.

Paired with the Advance Family Planning Progress Report released in May 2015, Advocacy Wins showcases the impact that evidence-based advocacy has in ensuring access to quality, voluntary family planning. AFP looks forward to updating the Advocacy Wins booklet annually.
