Advance Family Planning is proud to have three partners nominated for the 120 Under 40 project, which recognizes the new generation of family planning leaders:
Each winner will receive $1,000, to be put toward their work in family planning. A select number of top 40 winners will be invited to a World Contraception Day event in the U.S.
This process will repeat twice more, in 2017 and 2019, so that a roster of 120 outstanding young leaders will be assembled by 2020—a significant year for the family planning community.
Dini Haryati, Yayasan Cipta Cara Padu
Dini embodies the spirit and passion of a true leader. Though relatively new to the field of family planning—she began working in 2012 as a program officer for Advance Family Planning’s (AFP’s) Indonesia program—Dini has quickly demonstrated her ability to get others invested in and excited about family planning. Within two years, she was promoted to lead AFP’s local advocacy efforts through Yayasan Cipta Cara Padu, a local NGO. She now oversees a team of 22 people working with a range of actors at all levels of the government to inspire political commitment and support for family planning. – Sarah Whitmarsh, Communication Manager at Advance Family Planning
Robert Kasenene, United Nations Association of Tanzania
Robert is a dynamic young leader, who has for over 10 years shown great commitment to improve adolescent sexual and reproductive health in Tanzania. He is a determined and effective advocate for family planning and sexual and reproductive health, having demonstrated his leadership and contribution to a number of national and international initiatives such as national policy reviews, family planning budget tracking, and Africa International Conference on Population and Development regional review - all of which strengthens visibility and action in support of family planning and sexual and reproductive health. – Halima Shariff, Director at Advance Family Planning Tanzania
Brigitte Syan, Équilibres et Populations
Brigitte is a tireless and effective advocate who works collaboratively with national and subnational government and civil society stakeholders to encourage real change in policy and financial investments for family planning in her country of Burkina Faso. – Alison Bodenheimer, Francophone Africa Program Officer II at Advance Family Planning
120 Under 40, organized by The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, is accepting nominations of family planning leaders, 40 years old and younger, who have made “positive disruptions” in the field of family planning.
Nominations will be accepted through May 22. There will be 40 winners for 2016, who will be chosen by the public (via online voting) and an expert review board.
Winners will be announced on World Contraception Day 2016 in September. 120 Under 40 is sponsored by Bayer, the lead organizer of World Contraception Day.

Trois partenaires d’AFP nominés à 120 Under 40
Advance Family Planning est fière d’avoir trois partenaires nominés au projet 120 Under 40, qui récompense la nouvelle génération de leaders de la planification familiale :
Dini Haryati, Yayasan Cipta Cara Padu
Dini incarne l’esprit et la passion d’un véritable leader. Bien que relativement nouvelle dans le domaine de la planification familiale —elle a commencé à travailler en 2012 en tant que coordinatrice du programme d’Indonésie d’Advance Family Planning (AFP)—Dini a très vite démontré son habileté à convaincre d’autres acteurs à investir et s’engager pour la planification familiale. En à peine deux ans, elle a été promue pour diriger les efforts de plaidoyer locaux d’AFP à travers l’ONG locale Yayasan Cipta Cara Padu. Elle supervise désormais une équipe de 22 personnes travaillant avec différents acteurs à tous les niveaux de gouvernement pour inspirer l’engagement et le soutien politique à la planification familiale.

Robert Kasenene, Association des Nations Unies de Tanzanie
Robert est un jeune leader dynamique, qui a montré depuis 10 ans un grand engagement pour améliorer la santé sexuelle et reproductive des adolescents en Tanzanie. Fervent plaideur de la planification familiale et de la santé sexuelle et reproductive, il a efficacement démontré son leadership en contribuant à plusieurs initiatives nationales et internationales telles que la révision de politiques publiques nationales, le suivi du budget pour la planification familiale, et la révision pour la région Afrique de la Conférence Internationale sur la Population et le Développement – autant d’engagements qui ont renforcé la visibilité et l’action en faveur de la planification familiale et la santé de la reproduction.

Brigitte est une plaideuse infatigable et efficace qui travaille de manière collaborative avec le gouvernement national, local et les acteurs de la société civile, pour encourager un changement concret dans la politique publique et les investissements financiers en faveur de la planification familiale dans son pays, le Burkina Faso.

Les nominations au projet 120 Under 40, organisé par l’Institut Bill & Melinda Gates pour la Population et la Santé de la Reproduction, sont ouvertes aux leaders de planification familiale de 40 ans ou moins et qui ont généré des « perturbations positives » dans le domaine de la planification familiale.
Les nominations seront acceptées jusqu'au 19 mai. 40 vainqueurs seront sélectionnés pour 2016 par le public (via un vote en ligne) et un comité d’experts.
Les gagnants seront annoncés le jour de la Journée Mondiale de la Contraception en septembre 2016. 120 Under 40 est sponsorisé par Bayer, organisateur principal de la Journée Mondiale de la Contraception.
Chaque lauréat recevra 1000 dollars pour continuer son travail pour la planification familiale. Un nombre restreint des 40 vainqueurs seront invités à l’événement de la Journée Mondiale de la Contraception aux Etats-Unis.
Ce processus se répétera deux fois, en 2017 et 2019, de façon à rassembler 120 jeunes leaders exceptionnels en 2020, une année importante pour la communauté de la planification familiale.
