Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country in the world. The total population of 158 million is rapidly increasing at a rate of 1.37% each year.[1] Despite policies in place for provision of family planning services, implementation of these policies remains a challenge and access to the full range of contraceptive methods and quality, affordable services is limited.

AFP’s in-country partners are Jhpiego and Marie Stopes Bangladesh.

Jhpiego works closely with the government and other stakeholders to increase access to contraceptive method choices through amending task sharing guidelines, ensuring the provision of commodities at lower levels and creating an environment that enables operationalizing updates to tools and training for service providers.

Marie Stopes Bangladesh works closely with the government and other partners to advocate for revised service delivery guidance, enhanced training for service providers, and expanding access to new service provision techniques.
